Since the SUV was first created, we’ve seen the prototype model evolve considerably. A number of different iterations have been introduced to the public in recent years. Performance levels are enhanced, and the aesthetic presentations continue to evoke levels of sophistication. Along the same lines, SUVs have developed into one of the more popular car choices. You’ll see them used in a number of different ways — whether for collective comfort or in order to transport a family. When looking at the current market, one’s attention will be captivated by the 2019 Toyota 4Runner. The comprehensive scope of this vehicle is quite impressive when delving into its full package.
The 2019 Toyota 4Runner has a multitude of different options from which to choose from. Base models with front-wheel drive include the SR5 ($35,955), SR5 Premium ($37,785), Limited ($44,270), and Nightshade Edition ($46,010). All-wheel selections include elevated versions of the aforementioned group. There’s also the TRD Off-Road ($39,130), TRD Off-Road Premium ($41,040), and TRD Pro ($47,460). The base engine for all models includes a 4.0-L V-6 with projections of 270 HP and 278 lb.-ft. of torque. Based upon overall performance, each model should be able to tow up to 5,000 pounds. As was the case with the ’18 Toyota 4Runner, this version has approximations of 17 miles-per-gallon in city driving, and 21 miles-per-gallon on the highway.
While the main look of the cars will be similar to 2018, there are some slight deviations. Both the Premium and SR5 models will have silver rails with black caps. It was previously offered with silver caps (though this will be the case with the Limited model). Duly, TRD and Nightshade styles will remain with all-black presentations. The Pro models will have newer matted alloy wheels. This aids in making the car look sleeker and more modern. The Limited model also will have 20-inch black wheels along with improved rear/front bumper spoilers, roof rails, an exhaust tip, and window moldings. All will be fashioned with hues of black.
When combining performance and roominess in the cabin, the 4Runner remains a very attractive option as it pertains to off-roading. The suspension allows for a relatively smooth ride. This includes whipping around bends and sharp curves on more treacherous terrain. One will easily be able to hit the open road with the comforts of a larger vehicle. This is perfect for a spontaneous road trip, or even a quick jaunt up the coast in search of some adventure.
Though safety ratings haven’t come out yet for the ’19 model, last year’s included ‘GOOD’ marks from the IIHS on moderate overlap front test results, side impact test results, rear crash protection results, and roof strength test results. NHTSA offers four-star marks for Overall Rating and Frontal Crash, and a 5-star mark for side crash.
Without question, the 2019 Toyota 4Runner is an attractive option for anyone in search of an SUV. When looking at the entire picture, the vehicle appears to be a real gem.
