RAM trucks are among the most popular within the pickup truck category. Sturdy, powerful, and reliable, these vehicles encompass much in the way of complete value.
In 2020, the newest iteration — the RAM 1500 — is a true triumph within the class/its peers. There are a number of trims involved here. They include the Limited, Laramie Longhorn, Rebel, Laramie, Big Horn, and Tradesman. Each has its own specialized traits (which make all trims vary in price).
The Quad Cab styles start at $31,895, whereas the Crew Cab build begin at $34,695. The price point for these vehicles is quite good considering everything the RAM 1500 has to offer. These vehicles are said to have towing capabilities of up to 12,750 pounds. Duly, the multi-function tailgate with a 60/40 split is a sight to behold.
Early approximations have this vehicle getting a respectable 20 miles-per-gallon in city driving, and 26 miles-per-gallon on the highway. The two engines available include a 3.6-L V-6 and a 5.7-L V-8. The diesel V-6 engine is quite impressive. Some publications believe it sits neck-and-neck with the V-8 option.
Though most trucks can offer a bit of a bumpy ride, the RAM 1500 has smooth steering capabilities. This is in large part to a revamped suspension. Along with that, the interior cabin prides itself on being both spacious and comfortable. Furthering the pleasant interior experience, the car is equipped with a touchscreen.
In fact, RAM offers the largest in-class touchscreen available (12 inches). This includes navigation, SiriusXM, and a number of manual controls (including a specialized towing camera). Depending upon the model, RAM also has iterations with dual-pane panoramic sunroofs, active noise cancellation, and Harman Kardon Premium Audio (19 speakers of pulsating noise).
From a safety standpoint, the 2020 RAM 1500 received an overall rating of ‘4 stars’ from the NHTSA (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration). The car itself has a number of safety measures to ensure a nice ride. Traits in particular include Lane Departure Warning-Plus, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path, Guided Parking, and Automatic Trailer Detection.
