At some point or another, it’s everyone’s dream to glide stylishly down the street in a high-performance convertible. The 2018 Audi TT offers to make this wish come true for all potential buyers in search of such a vehicle.
The sleekness presented with the 2018 Audi TT is phenomenal. When looking at the layout of the car stylistically, one is presented with a rather handsome car. Three variations — TT, TTS, and TT RS — are made available. The starting price for the base TT will begin at $64,900. Price will rise in correspondence with specifications (aesthetic touches, interior additions, technological add-ons).
Both the TTS and the TT RS are offered as coupes. From an engine perspective, the TT RS packs a major punch. It’s equipped with a 400-HP turbocharged inline-5 engine. To illustrate its immense acceleration, the TT RS goes from 0-to-60 miles-per-hour in a paltry 3.7 seconds (354 lb.-ft. of torque). The base TT has a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 220 HP (0-to-60 miles-per-hour in 5.3 seconds). The TTS also comes with a 2.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine — though it runs with 292 HP.
As is the case with most convertible high-performance vehicles, exterior presentation is of the highest importance. The 2018 Audi TT is no exception — as models are offered in seven different colors (Catalunya Red Metallic, Vegas Yellow, Nardo Gray, Daytona Gray Pearl, Mythos Black Metallic, Ara Blue Crystal, Glacier White Metallic). The rounded front of the vehicle is complemented excellently by sharper, angular finishers on the flanks and towards the rear trunk. Enhancing the regal nature further is a creased hood, a grille with honeycomb patterning, power-adjustable and auto-dimming side mirrors, and LED matrix headlights.
The TT coupe has a second row of seats in the back — though the roadster is strictly a two-seater. The front rows are relatively spacious when compared to fellow competitors. Collectively, the cabin is futuristic in nature. Ambient LED interior lighting comes paired with an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror (with a digital compass). The Audi virtual cockpit is supremely impressive from a navigation standpoint. For those music lovers, the sound system comes equipped with nine speakers throughout the cabin. Duly, Audi provides an advanced key, a free 90-day trial of SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, and rain sensors for both automatic windshield wipers and headlights.
From a safety standpoint, the cabin comes with a multitude of airbags (front thorax, head curtain, knee). An anti-theft alarm system is put in place in order to ease the minds of the driver as they park their car in a potentially foreign neighborhood or location. An anti-lock brake system works well to prevent the vehicle from unexpectedly losing control on a windy road or a slick surface. Neither the IIHS nor the NHSTA has officially tested the 2018 Audi TT. However, extreme measures have been placed upon all models to ensure optimal safety. 4
All versions of the 2018 Audi TT will provide potential buyers with a powerful and luxurious car. We often hear about ‘statement pieces’ when it comes to furniture or clothing. Simply put, the 2018 Audi TT is the statement piece for all coupes.
