Getting To Know The 2018 Chevy Tahoe

There’s something to be said about owning a large vehicle. Exuding power and prestige, full-size SUVs can be true spectacles out on the road. People want to drive them, ride in them, and gawk at them for considerable amounts of time. There are a multitude of SUV options presently available on the current vehicle market. With loads of cars to choose from, the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe just might be the best option for anyone in search of a quality SUV.

When looking at overall ratings, the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe ranks at the top in virtually every category when compared to its peers. There are three configurations for this year’s model: LS ($47,500), LT ($52,600), and Premier ($62,200). The seven-to-eight seat car normally gets estimates of 16 miles-per-gallon in city driving, and 23 miles-per-gallon on the highway.

This car is revolutionary in terms of possessing crazy-good smoothness with a considerable amount of power. Even better, the high-octane engine purrs quietly as the driver careens down the road. The standard model is equipped with a 355 HP V-8 engine (six-speed automatic transmission). If one wants an even grander engine, there’s a 420 HP 6.2-L V-8 available (10-speed automatic transmission). Rear-wheel drive is standard in all models — though four-wheel is also available.

The bold, brash body can be found in a number of intriguing colors (Siren Red Tintcoat, Blue Velvet Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Havana Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Traditional Black, Pepperdust Metallic, and Tungsten Metallic).

Without question, the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe has made increases and enhancements in interior cabin class. All three rows offer ample seating space and leg-room. This facet cannot be attributed to all of its peers in the class. In essence, there’s a refinement found in this car that can also be seen in modernized compact SUVs and even luxury options.

An 8-inch touchscreen comes standard with the model unit — as does tri-zone automatic climate control, satellite radio, Bluetooth capabilities, rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera. Of course, there are enhanced options for those wanting to spend extra money. Those include aspects such as low-speed emergency braking, front-parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, push-button start, and 10-speaker surround-sound presentation.

There’s a nice amount of cargo space within the 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe. With all rows up, there’s 15.3 cubic feet of space. Those numbers increase with one row (51.7 cubic feet) and two rows (94.7 cubic feet) folded down. A hands-free power liftgate is also a nice touch for those often tasked with loading materials or equipment into the vehicle.

The NHTSA offered 5-star marks in both frontal crash and side crash (with a 4-star overall rating). This score is quite good when factoring in the respectability of the NHTSA.

This is a powerful, good-looking vehicle. Chevrolet has a reputation of crafting high-quality vehicles, and the 2018 Tahoe is simply no different.
