2018 Jeep Renegade

There are popular cars…and then there’s the Jeep. This vehicle has consistently been showcased in television, film, and media as an awesome, action-packed entity. For decades and decades, the Jeep has seen its brand continue to evolve from a strictly off-roading vehicle to one featuring sophisticated, softer touches. In the class of 2018, the Jeep Renegade ranks as one of the most highly thought of subcompact SUVs. When further analyzing the vehicle, it’s not hard to see why it holds considerable value.

The 2018 Jeep Renegade has four configurations in total: Sport ($18,445), Latitude ($21,845), Limited ($25,645), and Trailhawk ($26,845). On select 2018 models, Jeep is offering up to $4,000 cash allowance on specific 2018 models. The 2018 Jeep Renegade comes in nine colors: Omaha Orange, Solar Yellow, Anvil, Jetset blue, Black, Alpine White, Glacier Metallic, Granite Crystal Metallic, and Hypergreen clear-coat.

Approximations have this vehicle getting roughly 24 miles-per-gallon in city driving, and 31 miles-per-gallon on the highway. The car impressively can tow up to 2,000 pounds. It’s largely made possible thanks to a base 1.4-L four-cylinder engine. This includes six-speed transmission and 160-HP. The acceleration for this vehicle is quite good — as is the collective steering and smoothness of the ride itself. Very rarely will you see a subcompact SUV demonstrate this sort of tranquility on the road.

People may be surprised to see somewhat of a regal nature within the cabin. Trim pieces and all sorts of elements are enhanced brilliantly to give off an upscale feel. The driver is afforded considerable head space and leg room — as are passengers in both rows. Other standard features within the cabin include a 5″ touchscreen, a push-button start, Bluetooth capabilities, and a six-speaker audio system. Other additional facets (should they be purchased) include a panoramic moon roof, an 8.4″ touchscreen, navigation, and satellite radio.

The Jeep is often a car utilized on road trips — or even rougher terrain when off-roading is desired. Normally, large amounts of equipment are taken along for the proverbial ride (whether its for hiking, sports, or luggage). As such, having ample cargo space is imperative. The 2018 Renegade gets a respectable 18.5 cubic-feet of cargo space behind the second row of seats. When that row is folded down, it jumps to a roomy 50.8 cubic-feet. The front-passenger seat can also be pushed down should a larger, longer item need transporting.

Safety-wise, additional add-ons for the 2018 Jeep Renegade include blind-spot monitoring, active lane-keep assist, automatic high beams, rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, and rain-sensing wipers. These aspects come in handy — particularly when traversing across arduous terrain.

Safety wise, the NHTSA offered four-star marks for Overall Rating and Frontal Crash, and five-star billing for side crash. The IIHS offered an “ACCEPTABLE” grade for small overlap front test, and “GOOD” for side impact, rear crash protection, and moderate overlap front.

Without question, the 2018 Jeep Renegade is a fantastic option for anyone in the market for a subcompact SUV. The stylish look — coupled with traditional features and solid durability — makes for a very nice vehicle.
